50 Thousand Apps Existing on Microsoft Application Stores

Microsoft launches Windows Phone 7 in Europe towards the end of October of 2010. Then launched in North America in the second week of November 2010. Platform Windows Phone is a redesign of the Windows Mobile platform and has relationships with a number of software including Microsoft Office and XBox Live.

One year and two months since its launch, the Microsoft Windows Phone now has 50 thousand applications. This data is quoted from CNet blog "All About Windows Phone". More than a third the number of applications added in the last three months and nearly 16 percent added in the last 30 days.

Store Windows application indeed had reached 50,126 apps, but about 6000 applications that have been deleted from the application store from time to time, so the total number of applications in the U.S. was 42,655. Microsoft itself is only 40 thousand of applications and target has been reached last month. Dated December 12, 2011, the number of applications has reached 45 thousand.


From these data, as much as 58 percent of the total number of applications is a free application. Another 14 percent is a paid application is accompanied by the trial. Only 29 percent of which is full paid applications. Based on content category, the highest number of applications is for the category of games, books and references, as well as tools and productivity.

However, the volume of applications in Microsoft's application store is still far from its competitors. Apple's App Store, for example, already has 500 thousand applications in May 2011. A total of 150 thousand applications were published in just 4 months.

So it is with Google. Based on analytical data from the company Distimo, the Android Market has 360,297 mobile phone users use the application for Android in October 2011.
