The threat of Malware on Android Starting Appears in Early Years


Some observers had predicted an activity of malicious programs on Android in 2012, this along with the increasing popularity of the mobile operating system.

As if to fulfill that prediction, several threats were emerging in early 2012. Symantec noted some fake applications appear in the Android Market in early January.

On January 9, 2012, Symantec claimed to discover a malicious program disguised as a game on the Android Market. Interestingly, when installed, these malicious programs do not require permits all kinds except for internet access.

Because not ask permission all kinds, these fake apps may not suspicious. Symantec classifies as Android.Steek.

A day later, on January 10, 2012, Symantec found other malicious programs on the Android Market. This time, these fake apps modify an Open Source project.

Dubbed Android.Qicsomos by Symantec, these malicious programs trying to attack the user's smartphone in France. In it, there is a code to send SMS Premium.

Interestingly, delivery of Premium SMS code that will run if the user to uninstall the application through the menu on the application (the button labeled Desinstaller).

The discovery of two malicious programs in two days in a row it makes sure Symantec, this year will be a lot of malicious programs on Android.
